Manufacturing Operations Manager
Santa Ana, San José, Costa Ric
Position Objective
Lead and ensure the execution of the organization’s comprehensive manufacturing strategy, guaranteeing the safety, quality, profitability, efficiency, and sustainability of production operations. This position will be responsible for managing product costing, leading plant managers and department heads, ensuring the achievement of operational objectives, and driving continuous improvement, technological innovation, and talent development. The role will also serve as a strategic liaison between General Management, operational teams, customers, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the execution of production plans, ensuring demand fulfillment, on-time delivery, and achievement of operational objectives.

Oversee manufacturing processes, including injection molding, compression molding, extrusion, splicing, rubber mixing, plastic molding, and surface treatment.

Perform and oversee product costing, considering materials, installed capacity, operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability.

Monitor key production indicators, including efficiency, productivity, costs, defects, waste, and on-time delivery.

Lead continuous improvement, cost-reduction, automation, and production process modernization initiatives.

Evaluate, quote, and validate machinery, equipment, and technologies, ensuring that investments support operational requirements and the organization’s future growth.

Ensure compliance with quality, industrial safety, occupational health, environmental management, and applicable regulatory standards.

Lead managers, department heads, engineers, and functional leaders by establishing objectives, evaluating performance, and developing capability-building and succession plans.

Coordinate with Logistics, Procurement, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Finance, and Technology to ensure operational continuity and effective integration.

Ensure the accuracy and reliability of information recorded in SAP and other production systems to support planning, inventory control, and informed decision-making.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Design, or a related technical field.

Master’s degree in a technical, industrial, or business-related field is preferred.

Six to ten years of experience in leadership positions related to production management or industrial operations within manufacturing environments.

Experience in high-volume manufacturing and medium- to long-term production planning.

Experience in product costing, cost control, profitability analysis, and installed-capacity management.

Strong command of operational performance indicators related to efficiency, productivity, costs, defects, waste, and on-time delivery.

Knowledge of industrial processes such as injection molding, compression molding, extrusion, splicing, rubber mixing, plastic molding, cutting, or metal surface treatment.

Knowledge of ISO standards, quality management systems, corrective and preventive actions, industrial safety, and environmental regulations.

Strong knowledge of SAP as applied to production, inventory, costing, and data reliability.

Advanced English proficiency.
