Corporate Lawyer

San José, Costa Rica

Objective

Provide strategic legal support across the company—advising on transactions, contracts, employee, internal and joint business matters and international acquisitions—while ensuring compliance with laws, supporting corporate governance, and maintaining legal and regulatory integrity in all operations.

Responsibilities

Counsel on a broad range of U.S. and international corporate and transactional matters, including the establishment and maintenance of domestic and foreign subsidiaries, business divisions, and global operations for a company serving the general aviation industry.
Serve as the principal legal contact for an international region, advising on local transactional matters, HR and labor relations, leases, and litigation.
Advise on commercial and transactional matters, including acquisitions, divestitures, corporate reorganizations, and international joint ventures.
Support corporate governance activities, including the preparation of Board and Committee materials and oversight of domestic and international filings.
Provide guidance on regulatory compliance and corporate policies.
Collaborate cross-functionally on banking and investment matters, intercompany agreements, cross-border operations, tax planning, internal controls, and litigation.
Assist with the renewal and administration of major insurance programs, including aviation general liability and related claims.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Law.
Be a part of the Costarrican Bar Association.
Knowledge of labor and commercial law.
Experience drafting agreements and counseling clients on corporate, commercial and international matters.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Great interpersonal skills and judgment are paramount.
Advanced English Level (C1)
