Sr. DevOps Engineer

As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a vital role in enhancing our development, testing, and deployment pipelines through automation, scalability, and optimization for eCommerce team. Your collaboration with software engineers and other IT team members will be essential in managing code releases and ensuring our applications and services operate smoothly. By focusing on the creation of efficient systems and addressing operational challenges, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our infrastructure and processes. Additionally, your commitment to guiding, educating, and documenting DevOps practices will empower and support the growth of our software engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, monitor, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenknis, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD to automate testing, builds, and deployments.
Proficiency in scripting languages and coding (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
Identify the opportunities for Automation and automate routine tasks and configuration management.
Create and implement strategies to improve processes; including process re-engineering as required
Collaborate with developers and IT staff to maintain reliable integration and deployment infrastructure
Monitor infrastructure and applications for performance issues, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents.
Continuously evaluate and optimize infrastructure, applications, and pipelines for efficiency, cost, and scalability.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer.
Proficiency in Google cloud services, including virtual networks, storage accounts, Service Mesh, Apigee, Databricks and Kubernetes (AKS).
Excellent communication skills
Experience with version control systems like Git and an understanding of repos.
Experiance with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub actions.
Expertise in any cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), preferably GCP
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong scripting skills in languages such as Bash, Python, or Ruby.
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
Problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Experience with configuration management tools.
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.
Understanding of networking, load balancing, and firewall configurations.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Experience supporting and developing pipeline for eComm based services.
Experience with serverless architectures and microservices.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
Experience with serverless architecture.
Familiarity with GraphQL and API gateway concepts.
Familiarity with Retail industry supporting ecommerce/Digital team.
