Director of Operations – Rubber Seals

Location: Costa Rica
Reports to: Vice President of Operations / Executive Leadership

Job Summary:

The Director of Production will oversee and manage all aspects of the rubber seal manufacturing operations at Costa Rica facility. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining quality standards, optimizing costs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will lead production teams, coordinate with supply chain and engineering departments, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Production Management & Process Optimization

• Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring Customer Service (OTD), Human Resource Management, and Process Management.
• Implement and improve production processes to maximize output and reduce waste.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive Operational Excellence.

🔹 Quality & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to quality control standards and industry certifications (ISO, Six Sigma, Lean).
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
• Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

🔹 Leadership & Team Development

• Manage and develop production supervisors and plant staff, fostering a culture of accountability.
• Ensure proper training programs for employees to enhance skills and performance.
• Promote teamwork and cross-functional collaboration to achieve production goals.

🔹 Cost Control & Resource Management

• Manage production budgets, optimize resource utilization, and control operational costs.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies.
• Oversee inventory management to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and components.

🔹 Collaboration & Reporting

• Work closely with supply chain, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve production efficiency.
• Provide reports on production performance, challenges, and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Support new product development and process innovation initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in a production leadership role, preferably in rubber, plastics, or similar industries.
• Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process improvement.
  Proven leadership and people management skills.
• Ability to analyze data and implement strategic operational improvements.
  Bilingual (English & Spanish).
