Accounting GL Analyst
Costa Rica
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The Accounting Senior Analyst provides support for preparation of the statutory and management accounting reporting process, and will perform tests, reconciliations, analysis with the purpose of reviewing the reasonableness of the various financial reports, which include month end accounting package. This position will also play an important role in promoting systems/process development within the department to ensure ongoing efficiency and control improvements.
Tasks and Duties:
This section lists job-specific tasks and duties that are required to perform on a regular basis:
• Execute a range of financial tasks, such as transaction processing, using the appropriate systems and in accordance with the relevant standard accounting process.
• Support the preparation of tax returns and any other information to statutory authorities for Payroll, VAT and Corporation Tax.
• Ensure appropriate financial policies, procedures, and internal controls are in place, documented, and operating as intended
• Conduct all relevant validations & controls as per the defined schedule, thereby helping to identify and rectify processing errors on a timely basis.
• Generate ad hoc reports and metrics and KPI to ensure department’s goals are being achieved.
• Assist with preparing the monthly KPI reports in order that performance can be reported to the relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain a well-documented process e.g. through the TLDs or other work instruction
• Perform analytical review to ensure the movements vs. previous periods or vs. the previous forecast make sense
• Drive process improvements required to enhance controls and quality of reconciliations and related processes
Qualificarions:
• Bachelor’s degree or college/university student in accounting
• 2+ years of proven Accounting and Finance experience
• Strong accounting skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Proven Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PPT etc.).
• PowerBi is desirable
• Black Belt or equivalent preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage teams of 5 or more members.
• Ability and willingness to work 100% on site
• Ability and willingness to confirm to Expeditors dress code
• Ability to independently get to and from Expeditors’ facilities
