Manufacturing Engineer I

Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer I applies foundational engineering principles and established manufacturing systems and procedures to support, optimize, and continuously improve manufacturing processes. This role contributes to process validation, documentation, compliance activities, and day-to-day manufacturing support in a regulated production environment.
Key Responsibilities

Support continuous improvement initiatives by applying engineering methods such as LEAN tools and basic statistical analysis to enhance manufacturing processes.

Design, develop, and execute basic experiments and tests to qualify and validate manufacturing processes, including protocol development, data analysis, reporting, and recommendations.

Investigate and resolve manufacturing and compliance-related issues, including non-conformances, CAPA activities, and audit observations.

Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation and training materials, including work instructions, to ensure effective knowledge transfer to production teams.

Establish and manage project plans to ensure deliverables are completed on time and meet customer and quality expectations, utilizing project management tools such as project plans and risk analyses.

Identify opportunities for redesign or improvement of equipment, tools, fixtures, and manufacturing methods to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.

Provide manufacturing support by overseeing technical tasks, instructing technicians on test execution, delivering training, and providing performance feedback.

Manage the full lifecycle of fixtures and tools required for manufacturing processes, including purchasing, setup, qualification, and final validation.

Perform tasks across multiple systems to ensure smooth manufacturing operations and effective support of business processes.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors as needed to support manufacturing objectives.

Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Education and Experience
-
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related scientific field (required).
Required Skills and Competencies
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including MS Project; CAD experience is preferred where applicable.

Basic understanding of statistical techniques and data analysis.

Strong documentation, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.

Fundamental knowledge of engineering principles, theories, and manufacturing concepts.

Experience working with laboratory or industrial equipment is preferred.

Strong problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and critical-thinking abilities.

Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment relevant to assigned work.

High attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance standards.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities.

Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain professional relationships across all organizational levels.

Capability to build and sustain effective internal working relationships and interact professionally with vendors when required.
