IB Global Politics and TOK Teacher
Santa Ana, San Jose
Academic Year 2025–2026
The College is seeking a committed and passionate IB Global Politics and Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Teacher to join our diverse international faculty for the 2025–2026 academic year. The ideal candidate will be an innovative educator with expertise in the IB curriculum, a strong commitment to interdisciplinary and experiential learning, and a passion for empowering young global citizens.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning

Deliver engaging and rigorous IB Global Politics and TOK classes in alignment with the IB subject guides.

Plan and implement inclusive, student-centered lessons that promote inquiry, reflection, and critical thinking.

Maintain high academic standards, including timely and accurate assessment and feedback.

Supervise Extended Essays in relevant subject areas.

Support students during tutorial hours and track academic performance.

Create unit plans and design assessments following IB policies and rubrics.

Collaborate with the IB Coordinator to meet all internal deadlines (grades, IA, reports).

Participate in academic field trips and experiential learning activities related to Global Politics and TOK.
Mentoring and Community Life

Serve as a mentor to a group of 10–12 students, meeting weekly and offering individual guidance.

Track student attendance and well-being, referring to support staff as needed.

Participate in the residential life of the campus, including 6–8 weekend duties annually.

Engage in disciplinary processes when necessary and uphold the Code of Conduct.
Co-Curricular and Service Learning
-
Facilitate or support CAS and service-learning projects in alignment with the College’s mission.

Contribute to Thematic Weeks, Community Action Week, and other experiential learning programs.

Collaborate with the Co-Curricular Director on planning and implementation of educational activities.
Required Qualifications
-
A degree in Political Science, International Relations, or a closely related discipline.

A nationally or internationally recognized teaching qualification.
-
At least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in international or IB schools.

Experience teaching TOK is a distinct advantage.

Fluency in spoken and written English (C1 level).

Intermediate Spanish or willingness to learn.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Experience working with adolescents in multicultural environments.
