QA Automation Engineer
Remote
You will
• Work in tandem with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, UX designers, and Scrum Masters, to continually improve the user experience.
• Create, document, and maintain functional test cases using Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) principles and appropriate domain language.
• Participate in the development of multiple layers of test automation, covering functional components, user acceptance, and system testing.
• Generate essential test artifacts, such as test data and automated scripts.
• Review and provide constructive feedback on requirements, specifications, and technical design documents in a timely manner.
• Perform both manual and automated tests to identify and document defects.
• Design and create detailed test plans and test cases for both the frontend and backend of software systems.
• Collaborate with developers and product owners to reproduce and troubleshoot defects.
• Engage in reviews of test scenarios and code reviews of automated testing efforts, ensuring high-quality code and adequate coverage objectives are met.
• Assist in the deployment, support, and monitoring of software across test, integration, and production environments.
• Promote a positive team environment that fosters open communication, creative problem-solving, and innovative thinking.
You will come with
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years writing repeatable, reliable test automation for mobile and web applications (Selenium, Cypress.io, Puppeteer, Playwright, Appium) and runtime execution (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, LambdaTest)
• 2+ years proficiency developing functional acceptance test scenarios applying BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) using frameworks like (Cucumber, SpecFlow, Gauge).
• Support non-functional testing areas such as Security/Penetration, Performance/Load, Chaos and Accessibility (a11y) using an array of commercial and open-source tooling.
• Commitment to high-quality coding practices, including comprehensive documentation, active participation in code reviews, and adherence to best practices in software development.
• Passion for staying current with the latest software tools and methodologies.
• Intellectual curiosity and strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
